Forensic techs pulled information off the notepad Hinto had left behind.

The notes mentioned a bank on Second Street, the Trust Fidelity Bank, something about mail, and two partial words. The partial words looked like San and Bernar, which were side by side.

It was agreed that they must have spelled out the location of the bank, in San Bernardino, California. There was a branch of the Trust Fidelity Bank on Second Street in San Bernardino. It was a small bank with the usual security, and it fit Brick’s profile.

There was also a time and date, which indicated the robbery would go down the following day.

White had relayed Stark’s belief that Brick and his crew were planning to rob a bank in Los Angeles. As it so happened, the bank had a branch on 2nd Street in LA too. Although, even if that were the bank targeted by the gang, the Trust Fidelity Bank in LA had tighter security.

If Brick and his crew attempted to rob that branch, they would never get to the tellers because a steel partition would zoom upward and meet the ceiling, while the doors would lock and cage them. The bank also had an off-duty police officer on guard duty and the state police barracks were a short drive away.

Brick had never gone after such a difficult target. While on the run and with Tanner and White on his trail, Lawson assumed that Stark had been mistaken.

Only Tanner thought that Stark might be right, and he asked Lawson to monitor the bank in LA while telling them of the possible threat. Lawson had done as he asked, and said that they would be on alert.
